How to stop your children from tearing your wallpapers

While children are such a delight to have around us 😁😁😁, keeping them prim and proper is a whole different ball game.

Many parents are afraid to use wallpapers because of the fear that they will tear, deface or destroy it.

So how do we get children to live around Wallcoverings and not destroy it?

Just like every other objects at home, children are intrigued by things around them and want to experiment.

Here are a few tips to help keep the children away from your walls.

1.  Talk to them about how important it is to them and the family. Remember that they are very intelligent

2. Give them a sense of joint ownership

3. Cut their nails

4. Keep sharp objects out of their reach

5.  Loose hanging pieces should be properly trimmed.

6.  Stack things against the wall as barriers where possible.

7.  it might be better to explain that they should use paper for their creative outbursts

8.  Try to instill in your child that a piece of paper, a colouring book or a drawing pad are the right places for their creativity and that walls in kitchens, lounges, bathrooms, hallways, etc. are most definitely

9.  Make toys available and let them know the difference between their toys and the house décor

10. Make writing materials available…. Paper, jotters, notepads, drawing books.

11.              A clever idea: Children’s wallpaper designed to paint and draw on. The artistic outbursts can be wiped off with a damp cloth – again and again. An ideal way to let the creativity and zest of the little ones run riot.

12.              Put colorful cardboards in strategic but inconspicuous places on the wall and encourage them to write, draw and scribble. Make it a wall of fame. Scribbling corner

13.              Be firm about your instructions as they will try again to see if you are really serious 

14.              Watch them as much as possible

15.              Make them appreciate the beauty it adds to their home
